Services and Projects Theatrical Sound Design and Mixing In 2008 Mark Johnson was hired to mix sound for the newly built Stephen Sondhiem Center for the Performing Arts in Fairfield IA. Mark's responsibilities include sound system operation and maintainance, proper micing for theatrical performance, mixing of the pit orchestra, sound effects and mixing of the entire show. These shows are not your normal midwest community theater. They feature Broadway actors and actresses of the likes of Richard Kind, Stephen Derosa, Jenn Colela and Brad Little. These performers know what professional sound is and were always happy to work with Mark. Way Off Broadway Shows included: A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum. This show was Mark's first show called in two days before opening night. This show ran for 3 weeks staring Richard Kind, Stephen Derosa, Joel Blum and Steve Wilson. Edges - A new cutting edge Musical Great new show. Challange was to be a stage show and rock concert at the same time. "In the time this show ran in Albany NY our sound was never as good as it was here." Justin Paul Edges music creator and pianist during this run. Godspell This was a fun show great cast. The challange was the balance between the onstage band and the actors. Clearity of dialog and power of music must go hand in hand. Peter Pan What a great show with a lot of challanges. Lots of routing of monitors for backstage, Orchestra Pit, and On Stage. Sound effects and underscoring music dialog all at the same time. Loads of mixing full 48 channels during the show. |
