STUDIO LAYOUT INFORMATION:
CONTROL ROOM
B.S.R. control room is 15ft X 21ft designed with a traditional studio feel. The control room has slanted walls and a large glass window. Pro Tools HD3 on a Mac G4 is at the heart of the studio with a Control24 automated console in the center. BSR uses a variety of tube amps and microphone for a clean signal path from voice to computer. A comfortable and creative environment built for creating music or just listening back.
LIVE DRUM ROOM BOOTH
On the other side of the glass BSR has the largest live room in the area for tracking REAL instruments. At 18ft X21Ft with 10 foot high ceilings this live room gives you room to work and turn up the volume. At the back of the live room is the drum booth with the in house Yamaha Recording Custom Maple Set. We use Aquarian drumheads and Bosphorus Cymbals. Terry Hanson maintains the drums and keeps them in great shape by changing the heads on a regular basis. Set up on a rack the set can be customized to fit your style with 10,12,14, and inch 16 toms.
VOCAL BOOTH
The vocal booth is set up just off the control room.
AMENITIES
BSR has a kitchenette for the quick snacks late at night and a comfortable lounge for taking a break between takes. DSL Computer and phones hook ups are available when needed. Located in the downtown Rock Island District, BSR is close to entertainment, food and lodging at reasonable prices. BSR is also located just 10 minutes from the Moline airport.
When you are ready to get out of the hectic big cities and are ready to focus on the music, come to Brass Sail Recording located in the Midwest right on the Mississippi River.
